Church Apple Festival All Weekend On Historic Monroe Green

MONROE — St Peter’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Apple Festival this weekend. The event will be returning to the historic Monroe Green on Route 111, across the street from the church. The fair will be Saturday, September 6, from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, September 7, from 11 am to 4 pm.

Crafters from several states will be participating.

A variety of foods will be served at the snack bar including Egg McBuffa on roll, clam chowder, grilled chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes with toppings, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and sugar freits, French fries, apple spring rolls with caramel sauce, and a variety of beverages.

The Country Kitchen will offer a cookie walk, apple, blueberry, peach, rhubarb pies and jams, along with a variety of desserts baked by the women of the church. A 200th anniversary cookbook will also be available for sale at the booth.

Hardy mum plants in a variety of colors will be available.

“Apple Central” will have a variety of fresh apples, apple cider, caramel apples, items with an apple theme, and an all apple recipe cookbook.

Children’s games will be held on the town green by the gazebo, including a moon walk, face painting and a variety of new games and prizes for the children.

Raffle tickets will be available for a large queen-sized handmade Amish quilt, a 32-inch Panasonic TV, and a 26-inch Huffy bicycle.
