To the Editor,

The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission first discussed putting on the Arts Festival this year back in February of 2021. Vaccines were just starting to be distributed and none of us knew what the next 6 months would bring. We felt there were so many positive reasons to move forward and plan for a September Festival.

We fervently hoped for a COVID-free environment. Our first calls were to local businesses for support and sponsorship. Our local business community was enthusiastic and tremendously supportive of our plans.

We could not have put on this year’s Arts Festival without the resounding support from the business community.

YOU came forward in spite of a year of hardship and lost sales. You were our cheerleaders and our sponsors. You deserve much thanks from the entire community for your positive attitude and your kindness. Please support the businesses that have supported us.
