THE SKINNY: Verbally committed to play soccer at Virginia Tech in the ACC next fall after an outstanding performance at summer camp in July. Two other schools reportedly were prepared to offer Kristi a full ride, but she quickly agreed to join coach Kelly Cagle’s program. “I never thought I’d be able to play (for an ACC school),” she said. “I’m nervous, but it will be a great experience to play against that level of competition. ACADEMIC: Plans on majoring in interior design, a specialty at Virginia Tech. “I’m not the type of person to sit around a desk all day,” she said. “I’m a very creative person and I looked for a school with a major in interior design. I went down to Virginia Tech and it was perfect.”
