Raymond J. DeLorme

Raymond J. DeLorme, 84, of Newtown, passed away September 13, in Danbury Hospital. Mr DeLorme was the husband of Patricia (Russell) DeLorme. Ray was born in Bridgeport, on May 10, 1937, a son of Joseph and Catherine (Gilson) DeLorme.

He was a graduate of Central High School. Ray was door manager at Park City Auction in Bridgeport and operated Botsford Antiques in Newtown and Monroe. He was a fixture at area flea markets and antiques shows and attended the Brimfield, Massachusetts Antique Show every year. In his earlier years, Ray was a member of the Bridgeport Police Auxiliary, serving at the Barnum Festival at Seaside Park. A resident of Newtown since 1979, he was a life member of Botsford Fire and Rescue. Ray was an animal lover, especially his dog, Pumpkin, who was his constant companion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Carl Russell, of Trumbull.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Al and Fred DeLorme, and a sister, Lucille Gaspar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, on Friday, September 17, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
