With Volkslieder playing and at least one young member wearing Lederhosen, the congregation at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 85 Mt Pleasant Road, celebrated their third Annual Oktoberfest/German Food Fest on September 8.

The Oktoberfest featured authentic German wursts from Noack’s Meat in Meriden, with parishioners providing German side dishes and desserts.

Christ the King also welcomed members of Zion Lutheran Church in Orange, as they are temporarily without a sanctuary or fellowship hall due to flooding last month. Hosted by the Elders and the Congregational Ministry of Christ the King, the event honors the church’s German heritage and celebrates fellowship and friendship.
