We are pleased to submit our enthusiastic endorsement of Don Ramsey, a long-time Newtown resident and retired Newtown Middle School teacher, for the Newtown Board of Education.

Many Newtown students, including both of our grown children, have had the pleasure of having Don Ramsey as their technical education teacher at Newtown Middle School. From the first eye-opening glimpse of his unique classroom, he grabbed their attention and kept it by challenging them with creative projects such as designing bottle rockets, architectural buildings, and of course, his signature ties.

Don has always challenged his students to be creative, critical thinkers while learning with a sense of adventure. His wealth of innovative teaching experience and his commitment to the highest educational standards is not only commendable, but demonstrates a professional excellence that he has consistently exhibited over the years.

He has earned the respect of many parents and students. It is this “moxie” that makes him an excellent candidate for the Newtown Board of Education. Don has spent a lifetime providing students the best learning experience possible.

As a member of the Board of Education, Don can continue to be an advocate for all Newtown students while continuing Newtown’s reputation of educational excellence.
