To the Editor:

I’m happy to share with you that I am seeking reelection to the Legislative Council, representing District 1.

I’m proud of the work my colleagues and I have done over the past several terms and feel our accomplishments can be attributed to our collaboration, willingness to listen, and our commitment to representing everyone in our community — from the youngest children to senior citizens and everyone in between. We’ve managed to pass sensible, balanced budgets for both the Municipality and the Board of Education, and we’ve consistently maintained a focus on education, roads, and public safety — priorities shared by Newtown’s leadership and residents alike.

My four years as a council member, two as chair of the Finance and Administration Committee and two as vice chair of the Ordinance Committee have given me invaluable insights and the tools needed to provide balanced and thoughtful leadership. As a mother with two children in Newtown’s school system and an invested member of our community, I will continue to work to move Newtown forward for all our residents.
