Passport To Sandy Hook Prize Packages Valued At Over $2,300

The 2nd Annual Passport to Sandy Hook will take place on Saturday, October 6, rain or shine from 11 am to 4 pm. More than 25 merchants have contributed towards prize packages being offered this year.

Participants will be able to pick up their Sandy Hook Passport from any participating location in Sandy Hook Center — the area of Church Hill Road, Washington Avenue, Riverside Road and Glen Road. As they walk from place to place enjoying the treats, samples, discounts, or other activities, they will receive a stamp. Completed passports will be entered into a drawing for one of three prize packages, which this year have grown to a total value of more than $2,300.

In order to be eligible to win one of three prize packages, visitors must have their passports stamped at all participating locations. Three winners will be drawn at Sandy Hook’s fire truck, which will be stationed at the back parking lot of 102 Church Hill Road, at 4:15.

First Grand Prize, valued at $1,018, includes: ten tickets to Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hockey Game in Newtown Savings Bank Corporate Suite, a painting from Colbert Photography, guitar lessons from Suzuki Music School, a gift bag and coupon from Fun Kids Consignments/Fun Kuts, hair products from Sandy Hook Hair Company, a Christmas tree from Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company, and gift certificates to Iron Bridge Restaurant & Bar, Stone River Grille, The Hook, demitasse café, Sandy Hook Hair Company, Graceful Planet Moving Arts Center, and Sabrina Style;

The Second Grand Prize (valued at $733) includes ten tickets to Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hockey Game in Newtown Savings Bank Corporate Suite, a fall basket from The Country Mill, a Suzuki Music School 4-week Music Class, and gift certificates to The Toy Tree, The Iron Bridge Restaurant & Bar, figs wood-fired bistro, The Hook, Sandy Hook Deli & Catering, PJ’s Laundromat and The Wishing Well; and

Third Grand Prize (valued at $602) includes a wine tasting for six at McLaughlin Vineyards, Lenox Candlesticks from Wesley Learning Center, a gift from The Children’s Adventure Center, one month of piano lessons from Julie’s Piano Workshop, a Mary Kay Fall Makeover Session, one month membership to Porco’s Karate Academy, and gift certificates to Iron Bridge Restaurant & Bar, The Villa Restaurant, The Hook and demitasse café.

Meanwhile, businesses in Sandy Hook Center will be offering treats, samples, discounts or other activities during the five-hour event. There will also be live music by John Voket starting at 11:30, live music by The Bobby Donaldson Band starting at 1 pm, and a live broadcast by i-95 FM starting at 1:30;; and visits with Baro and Newtown Canine Officer Felicia Figol at 2:30. A special performance by students of The Graceful Planet Moving Arts Center is also planned.

Visitors are also reminded that Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue members will be conducting a stuff-a-truck to benefit the FAITH Food Pantry. Donations of non-perishable food, or monetary donations, will also be collected at the company’s fire truck, to be delivered to the food pantry at 5 Washington Avenue.

Passport to Sandy Hook is organized by Sandy Hook Organization Prosperity (SHOP), with sponsorship from Newtown Savings Bank, Andy Sachs and The Deals Around Team, and i95 FM.
