I am a resident of Newtown for 52 years and, for all of those years, have lived in the same house on Key Rock Road. I have raised five children on this road and often felt it was a miracle that they were not hit by a speeding car, which seems to be the norm for Key Rock Road. Recently, I was nearly blown into the road from the wind created by a speeding vehicle while I was on the lawn retrieving my mail. It is very obvious that most of the vehicles that travel on Key Rock Road are not doing the 20 mph speed limit.

I am well aware that the town has grown and that Key Rock Road has become a popular connecting road (not a highway). This is not Mr Walsh’s personal agenda. We, on Key Rock Road, our neighborhood, are thankful for all his efforts and have encouraged him to do what is necessary to keep this road safe, not only for the residents, but especially the children who must get on the school buses. I suggest Mr Reda that you consider leaving your home a few minutes earlier to get to your demanding job so traveling on Key Rock Road, with the new speed bumps in place, won’t be stressful for you.
