To the Editor:

September 28th was our twenty-sixth annual Health Fair — it was a spectacular day and our first time at our beautiful Community Center. The utmost thanks to Matt Ariniello and everyone who lent strong helping hands — Dennis Bloom, our Public Works guys, and CERT members Debbie Halstead, Neil Chaudhary and Mike McCabe.

What a great day — everyone was so happy! All our exhibitors and participants at the fair are truly a joy to work with. Thanks to John Voket, our terrific emcee, again this year. Special thanks to our sponsors Aqua Environmental Lab, Bethel Visiting Nurse Association, Danbury Nurses Registry, Families Network of Western CT, Newtown Chamber of Commerce, Newtown Prevention Council, Dr Della Schmid, Vein Institute, Voice for Joanie. And special thanks to Dr Joseph Young. All of this support makes such an event possible.

Newtown is fortunate to have such dedicated and talented people. We are blessed to have terrific community events that bring us together and let us have some good, clean fun. To all the fair’s attendees, thank you for coming; it is for you that we share all of the free health screenings and health and wellness info to keep Newtown well.

A very special thank you to our board members Dr Bob Grossman, Dr Tom Draper, Dr Bill Begg, Jocelyn Taweh, Herb Rosenthal, Bernie Meehan, and Curtis Read and Health District staff (Maureen, Ed, Laurel, Suzette and Keith) — all the support and hard work make the difference every day, and especially fair day!
