To the Editor:

I met Clinton DePaolo because of his strong work ethic. My respect for him grew exponentially when I started observing and interacting with him on the Democratic Town Committee, where he serves as secretary. He is one of the main reasons I joined the DTC. He left a card on my door during his previous campaign containing an invitation to a campaign event at a local restaurant. After conversing with him for the first five minutes, I knew he had my vote.

Clinton is a millennial, like my two sons. As a senior citizen, there are plenty of community representatives and elected officials already representing my age group. Newtown, just like board rooms across this country, needs diversity, with age being one of them. Clinton’s technology expertise and his finger on the pulse of future needs are two of the many reasons it’s important to elect him as a Legislative Council member.

One doesn’t become a researcher at Albert Einstein College without intelligence. In addition to intelligence, Clinton understands regular folk. He grew up in a working class family, and currently with a wife and two young children living in Newtown, he still understands working class issues and practices strong family values. His willingness to work hard and not take anything for granted is admirable.

Clinton DePaolo serves us well on the Parks and Rec Commission. Since he’s willing to serve us well on the Legislative Council, please do not pass up this golden opportunity to vote for him. Even if you don’t live in District 2, please pass the word to friends and relatives who do live in District 2 to vote for Clinton to make the lives of all Newtown residents a little better!
