To the Editor:

As a member of the Independent Party of Connecticut, I strongly endorse Dan Rosenthal for first selectman, and Maureen Crick Owen and Ed Schierloh for Board of Selectman. The Board of Selectmen has done a superb job of managing the affairs of Newtown, holding taxes flat for years, and representing all residents of Newtown.

What is particularly encouraging is the nonpartisanship of the board, being represented by three parties. The addition of the SAM [Serve America Movement] Party encourages transparency, accountability, and competitions, all supported by the Independent Party of Connecticut.

I encourage all voters to research the candidates and vote fore those that represent your beliefs — make your own choices, not just party affiliation.
