To The Editor:

State Senate candidate Amybeth Laroche has embraced Representative Mitch Bolinsky’s voting record. She supports Mitch Bolinsky’s vote against the protection of Women’s Rights and Healthcare Provider’s Rights.

Bolinsky voted "no" on the Connecticut Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, though it passed 87-60 and was enacted.

He voted "no" on the Substitute House Bill Concerning the Provision of Protections for Persons Receiving and Providing Reproductive Health Care Services in the State of Connecticut. It ultimately became Public Act 22-19, and again Bolinsky voted against it.

This legislation protects patients and health-care providers against legal actions from states attempting to punish reproductive health care that is lawful in Connecticut.

The legislation creates Connecticut “shield” protections for people obtaining and providers furnishing reproductive health care that is legal in Connecticut; limits CT’s assistance with certain out-of-state investigations and proceedings concerning reproductive health services legally performed here; addresses out-of-state subpoenas, discovery, judgments and extradition arising from reproductive health care; and provides personal legal causes of actions against those out-of-state attempting to enforce their state laws against Connecticut Reproductive laws.

Amybeth LaRoche and Mitch Bolinsky would surrender women’s and health care providers’ rights and criminal protections against Red States that want to imprison our women, doctors and nurses for actions that are legal in Connecticut.

This is a complete disservice not only to women, but also to Connecticut’s own State sovereignty.

Shame on Bolinsky and LaRoche! This is not leadership, it’s MAGA capitulation and should disqualify these candidates. This is not Newtown! This is not Connecticut!

The choice of Rob Blanchard for State Senate and Michelle Embree Ku for State representative is overwhelmingly obvious.

Please vote on November 3 or early beginning October 19!
