To the Editor:

Paul Lundquist has my full support for the position of Legislative Council member. Paul is simultaneously one of the most intelligent, deliberate, and humble people I know. More importantly, he has proven to be a great asset to the LC during the four terms he has already served. In just the past two years, while Paul was chairman, Newtown has been able to save substantial amounts of money through responsible financial policies, while improving services like road maintenance, supporting seniors and disabled citizens, and bringing the new Community Center and Senior Center to fruition. Soon, we will have a new and vastly improved police station as well.

Newtown benefits from a leader like Paul who continues to make education, public safety, and the state of our roads his top priorities. Furthermore, we thrive as a town when we invest in our long-term goals and do so in a fiscally responsible manner. Paul has proven that he will look out for the town’s best interests. Let’s make sure he gets the chance to keep serving as a valued member of the Legislative Council.

And one more thing: there is no room for complacency in our elections so please, do your civic duty. Make sure to get out and cast your vote.
