It is a pleasure and a privilege to express my strong endorsement for Carol Walsh as a candidate for Legislative Council D3.

I have known Carol for 20 years, working together as Corporate R&D directors, and I am very confident that the many skills she exhibited in that successful career can be used to the benefit of Newtown in the Legislative Council.

Carol is a world class scientist, team player, and problem solver. She is thoughtful, objective, and precise. Carol deals in facts, using inputs from a variety of sources, listening carefully to different perspectives before coming to decisive and well-reasoned arguments as well as realistic/pragmatic solutions.

She knows what it takes to be responsible and accountable.

As an R&D director, Carol routinely demonstrated her ability to think strategically and operationally, to prioritize and take tough decisions in order to make things happen within a finite budget — something she showed us in Newtown as a member of the Board of Finance.

During her long scientific career, Carol enthusiastically embraced the core values and benefits of diversity and inclusion in her teams, recognizing the qualities brought to the business by this approach.

Carol and her family are long-time Newtown residents and care deeply for the future of our community. Carol recognizes that we are only temporary custodians of this beautiful place and that we must take actions to preserve it for future generations. The time to act in support of our environment is now, and if elected, Carol will act.
