To the Editor:

If you ever have the opportunity to walk around with State Senator Tony Hwang, don’t pass it up. I have had that privilege many times and the reaction he receives from everyone he sees speaks volumes about the kind of elected official he is.

People remember Tony and usually have a story to go with their memory. Whether it’s a visit he made to a school or scout group, a forum he led on a leading local concern or an issue he advocated for in the senate chamber, Tony knows his district.

He knows that statewide, one-size-fits-all mandates don’t work for our towns. He knows we could all use some relief from high utility costs and taxes. He knows we take our role as stewards of the watershed seriously.

This knowledge has come over time but also because Tony puts in the time. Not all legislators do that. Not all legislators listen to the priorities of the communities they represent.

But Tony does.

State Senator Tony Hwang is our advocate in Hartford. We need him there. Join me in supporting Tony on November 8th.

Tony is the kind of person you only want to see once or twice a year. Once you get to know him, you see that he is just another politician. He’s been in Hartford for over a decade, and I can’t name a single thing he’s delivered for the district. We need change.

They are all politicians, they have to be or they can’t get elected. I suggest you look at all of the fine work Tony has done for us during his four (4) terms. He recently co-sponsored a bill to address mental health issues within our state. Lets us also not forget he was one of the few who sponsored HB5140. What has Tim done for the Horseshoe crabs within our state?
