I am writing this letter to endorse Debbie Aurelia Halstead for re-election as our town clerk. Debbie has given many years of dedicated service to Newtown, all the while exhibiting competence and professionalism.

I’m impressed with, and grateful for, the many updates she has made to the town clerk website. She made it possible to reregister your dog online during the months of June, July, and August, helping to eliminate disruption of your day for us working and busy people.

Another improvement she oversaw was making land records viewable online, all the way back to 1955. Real estate recordings are indexed immediately and within 24 hours you can print the documents from home.

I was having difficulty filing some real estate documents and Debbie was able to ease my worry and explain the process. Debbie took the time to give me personal attention to solve the problem and also took me on a tour of the vault!

Our town deserves an experienced and devoted town clerk who has over the years earned every town clerk certification available. Debbie Aurelia Halstead is committed to work for the good of every citizen and to stand strong for Newtown.
