To the Editor:

The position of town clerk is largely about timeliness, customer service, attention to detail, and hard work. The town clerk is also integral to creating a sense of community in the central municipal office; needs to have an open-door attitude; and should welcome input and feedback from the residents of Newtown.

I’m confident that Jordana Bloom is the right person for the job. As a former retail business owner, she is adept at multitasking and prioritizing communications. As a current member of the Legislative Council, she is willing to put in the time and effort required to effect change. Through her LC experience, she has gained insight into how the various boards and commissions function and interact. Her role in coordinating and disseminating meeting minutes and agendas will certainly benefit from having had this unique vantage point.

Jordana believes the town clerk’s office should be the place people go if they have a question or are new to town and need help — serving as the heart of the community. I know she will cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere and will work hard to ensure elections and referendums are run efficiently and fairly for all residents, business people, and government officials.

Please join me in casting a vote for Jordana Bloom for town clerk this November 2. I am confident the town will be well off with Jordana serving in this vital role.
