To the Editor:

Several letters have been submitted describing the dedication and extensive experience that attest to why Neil Chaudhary is a good choice for police commission. In addition to his qualifications, I believe Neil’s willingness to go the extra mile will make him a valuable asset to the commission. While it is clear from his years of volunteer service that Neil is a good and concerned citizen, he continues to find other opportunities to help the community. For example, Neil worked with the superintendent and CT DMV to disseminate information on teen driving laws to high school parents in order to help them be informed and keep their children safe. Along the same lines, he worked on the AARP sustainable community effort and provided the group with information on safe driving for seniors.

Neil also saw an opportunity to create a positive message about safe driving on the NHS band truck by spearheading a safe driving slogan contest. He coordinated with the school district and various boards and organizations to launch the contest and reached out to state officials and others to be judges. Moreover, he secured the necessary funding from the Prevention Council to make it all a success.

These are just a few examples of how effective Neil is at employing his expertise as a traffic safety scientist to help the community and find opportunities to promote safe driving. Join me in voting for Neil Chaudhary for Police Commission.
