The C.H. Booth Library’s Tenth Anniversary Turkey Trot Celebration Committee announces Newtown Center Pediatrics has signed on to be the new Finish Line Sponsor for this year’s race. The milestone event will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, beginning at 7:45 am. The Newtown 5K Turkey Trot Road Race and Fun Walk is an annual benefit for the C.H. Booth Library. It will begin and finish at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

As the Finish Line sponsor, Newtown Center Pediatrics has made it possible for monetary prizes to be awarded to the overall top three female and top three male runners. Prizes will be presented during an awards ceremony immediately following the race.

Funds raised from sponsorships support the C.H. Booth Library’s mission to promote the joy of lifelong learning, stimulate curiosity, support the exchange of ideas, and provide a welcoming gathering place for our community.

“The Booth Library is a safe haven for our community, a place that has given so many of our children a solid foundation helping them study for school while inspiring a love of learning,” said Dr Laura Nowacki of Newtown Center Pediatrics. “The library is a gathering place for finding facts and sharing knowledge. With everyone’s support, we can preserve it for the next generation of learners.”

Held in the scenic and historic center of Newtown, the Turkey Trot has become a community tradition and highlight for many families over the Thanksgiving weekend. Runners and walkers interested in signing up for the race may register at newtownturkeytrot.com. Cost is $27.50 for the run (prices increase after November 2) and $20 for the walk.
