To the Editor:

Next Tuesday, November 5, Newtown residents will have an opportunity to do something that happens only twice a year, something that will have a positive impact on youngsters not only in our own community, but throughout the country as well. They can visit one of three locations in town to participate in a time-honored tradition that dates back more than a hundred years — buying Girl Scout Cookies!

Scouts from several Newtown Girl Scout Troops will be at all three polling stations, Newtown Middle School, Reed Intermediate School, and Head O’ Meadow School, with your favorite cookies ready for purchase. Please support your local Scouts, and while you’re there, go on in and vote as well!
