First Night Danbury 2012-13 Seeking Volunteers Of All Ages For New Year’s Eve Celebration

DANBURY — “Danbury Fare” is this year’s First Night Danbury theme, celebrating its 23rd year of fun filled, family friendly arts events throughout CityCenter on New Year’s Eve.

The multi-cultural, multi-arts fest will begin on Monday, December 31, at 4 pm, and will offer up four hours of unique performances, music and surprises around every corner. Recognizing the famed historic Danbury Fair as well as CityCenter’s surrounding offerings of fare, First Night Danbury will present vaudeville, for the fifth year, at the Palace Theater, classical music at the Music Centre, arts and crafts at ESCAPE to the Arts, puppets at Danbury Public Library, and many other arts and cultural entertainments.

Volunteers are needed to check First Night attendees in at the doors for more than 30 events. Organizers also needs greeters to meet the performers and to assist backstage. All ages are welcomed, and First Night encourages family teams to host.

All volunteers receive a button to First Night and with two hour shifts, enough time to attend several performances. Community Service hours are available.

To participate, contact Stacey Olszewski at staceyolszewski@yahoo.com or call 203-512-9100.
