The following workshops have been scheduled by HealingNewtown, which is set up at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street. Use the lower entrance to get to the HealingNewtown classrooms space.

“The Joy of Art” with Joy Hoffman will continue on Wednesdays, November 13 and 20. One-hour sessions will be offered beginning at 2 and 4 pm.

Children from preschool to grade 2 will enjoy a chance to express their artistic talents freely while being introduced to various arts and crafts projects including friendship bead making bracelets and necklaces, paper plate bugs, and other fun and lively arts and craft projects.

Weaving Workshop with Hanna Roehrs will be offered on Monday, November 11, from 6:30 to 9 pm; Wednesday, November 13, from 2 to 3 pm; and Monday, November 18, from 6:30 to 9 pm.

These workshops offer a an introduction to weaving for beginners as well as instruction in advanced weaving techniques for more experienced weavers.
