George David Burch, 36, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2022, in Rutland, Vermont.

A native of Sandy Hook, he was the son of George and the late Sharon Burch. He is survived by his sisters, Kelly (Steven) Mead and Katie Lee (Justin) McGrath; his nieces and nephews Mylah Burch, Shane and Rylynn Mead, and Jameson, Baylee and Garrison McGrath; paternal grandparents Jack and Eva Marie Wilson; cousins Trisha Ostrander, Audra Westphal, Brian Shepard, Shannon Miles, Melissa Phiffer, Jessica Walz, Timothy Shepard, Samantha and Chuck Shepard, Ashley Sonidis, Jordan Zaletta, Sydney and Ryan Burch, Bridget Beltcher, Maxwell and Cosmos Lovig, and Clare Clary; aunts and uncles Alan and Linda Shepard, Shawn and Holly Burch, Michael and Debra Burch, Kevin and Patricia Shepard, Chuck and Kathy Shepard, and Suzanne and David Lovig.

George loved animals, children, and nature. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed quad riding with his cousin Brian. He was an artist who was fearless, with a great sense of humor. He was a kind man who was always young at heart.

A Celebration of George’s Life will be held Sunday, November 27, at 2 pm, at Southbury Congregational Church, 283 Main Street North in Southbury.
