Thanksgiving Holiday Closings & Early Deadlines

Operating hours for most locations will be affected by the Thanksgiving holiday.

All Town of Newtown offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 23-24, in observance of the national holiday.

The transfer station at 4 Ethan Allen Road will be closed Thursday only. It will reopen on Friday, November 24.

Cyrenius H. Booth Library and Newtown Senior Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The town library will reopen on Saturday, November 26, at 9:30 am, and the senior center will reopen on Monday, November 28, at 9 am.

Schools also will be closed Wednesday through Friday, November 22-24.

The United States Postal Service will not be making deliveries on Thursday.

Edmond Town Hall will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, November 22-23. It will reopen Friday, November 24.

The offices of The Newtown Bee will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 23-24. We will reopen at 8 am Monday, November 27.

Early Deadlines

All editorial deadlines for the November 24, 2023 print edition of this newspaper will be one business day earlier than usual.

Business, Education, Health and Sports items are due by noon Monday, November 20.

Letters to the Editor must be received by noon Tuesday, November 21.

Obituaries must be received by 9 am Wednesday.

Copy for display and classified advertising must be received by our office as follows: Real Estate Display: 10 am Friday, November 17; regular Display ads and Real Estate Classified ads (In-Column), 10 am Monday, November 20; and regular (In-Column) Classifieds, 1 pm Tuesday, November 21.
