*After rocking the house at Café 127 in Shelton last Friday, SOL DOG is in our immediate area this weekend. The band has a show Saturday night (Nov 27) at Classic Rock Brew Pub in Danbury. It’s the band’s debut gig over there, so let’s get out there and show them some support. The Brew Pub is at the end of Wibling Road, which runs right behind the Bed, Bath & Beyond and Sports Authority building; use the airport ramp off I-84 Exit 4.

*Also back in the area this weekend is NRBQ, for its annual Thanksgiving show at Toad’s Place in New Haven. The band is at the club on November 26 and will be onstage after opening sets by Paradise Vendors and Steel Rodeo.

Christmas shows are beginning to dominate the Toad’s Place calendar, beginning with a ROOMFUL OF BLUES Christmas show on December 2, with Eight To The Bar and The Providers both playing opening sets. ROSE COPPOLA is the featured performer at the New Haven club for a “Band Together For Kids” event planned for Saturday, December 11. That show is going to be a benefit for Connecticut Children’s Hospital.

Next month will also play host to the club’s 2nd Annual Toad’s Place Christmas Party (details TBA); the annual jazz Christmas show by MARION MEADOWS & FRIENDS, December 16; and JOHN VALBY’s Christmas show, the following night. GIRLS RULE THE YULE, an all-ages event on December 19, will feature SWEETER THAN WINE and SWIVEL HIPS; and MIGHTY PURPLE’s Christmas show, also open to all ages, will be on December 23. Mollycoddle opens the Mighty Purple show.

*MAX CREEK will play its Thanksgiving show this weekend. The band is at The Webster Theatre in Hartford on Saturday, November 27.

A few tickets remain for both GODSMACK shows, November 30 and December 1 at The Webster. The tickets are available for cash only, however, and must be purchased at the club’s box office.

DE LA SOUL will be at the club on December 4, with Biz Markie and Pharoah Monch. The following Saturday (Dec 11), SEVENDUST headlines, with sets by Static X, Dope and Chevelle. The Sevendust show is open to all ages.

*ROCKARAZZI has been added as another opener for the SEBASTIAN BACH concert at Tuxedo Junction. The Danbury club will be hosting the former SKID ROW frontman on December 8. CHANNELING JIM returns when the club re-opens its doors Christmas night, and another teen night (age 18 & under, high school students only) will be presented at Tuxedo Junction on Sunday, December 26.

*And finally this week, just a reminder that tickets are going on sale Monday morning for THE MOODY BLUES at the SNET Oakdale in Wallingford on February 10. Contact the Oakdale’s box office, 203/265-1501, for ticket price details.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
