In addition to early deadlines for The Newtown Bee this week, Town and other entities will be affected by the Thanksgiving holiday.

All town offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28-29, in observance of Thanksgiving.

The transfer station at 4 Ethan Allen Road will be closed both days; it will reopen on Saturday on its regular schedule (7 am to 3 pm). Thursday recycling will be picked up on Friday; Friday recycling will be picked up on Saturday.

Cyrenius H. Booth Library will be closing early on Wednesday, November 27, at 3 pm, and then remain closed on Thursday and Friday. It will reopen on Saturday, November 30, at 9:30 am.

Newtown Senior Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28-29. It will will reopen on Monday, December 2, at 8 am.

FAITH Food Pantry will be closed on Thursday. It does have a special Thanksgiving dinner pick-up session for clients scheduled for Monday, November 25, however. Volunteers will be at 46 Church Hill Road that evening from 6 to 7:30 pm. The pantry will be open for its regular Tuesday morning session on November 26 (9:30-11:30), closed for Thanksgiving, and the reopen on Tuesday, December 3, at 9:30 am.

Schools also will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28-29.

The United States Postal Service will not be making deliveries on Thursday.

The offices of The Newtown Bee will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28-29. We will reopen at 8 am, Monday, December 2.

Deadlines for the November 29, 2019 print edition will all be 24 hours earlier than usual. The paper will be printed and mailed Wednesday, November 27.
