William J. Sherman, 72, of Newtown, Conn., died Friday, November 25, 2022.

Mr Sherman was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to Jean Benson Sherman and William Fonner Sherman Jr, and later moved with his family to High Point, N.C. He graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in 1968, then Guilford College in 1972.

He started his career in commercial printing sales with Case Hoyt, then became a vice president of sales for the Banta Corporation. He later worked for Quebecor World and Vanguard Printing, capping his more than 40-year career in sales as an Executive Vice President.

Mr Sherman lived in Newtown most of his life, but enjoyed summer weekends with family at Piseco Lake in the Adirondacks of N.Y.

Surviving are his children, Will and Case Sherman, Jessica Durbin and her husband Todd Beardsworth; his grandchildren, Mason and Peyton Beardsworth; sister, Stacey Purdy; his nephew, Kevin Purdy; and his niece Amanda Purdy, all of whom loved “Bill” very much and will miss him immensely.

A private service will be held with family in the Adirondacks where he will be laid to rest.
