Counterfeit Bills

Police said they went to Hot Shots Grille, Restaurant & Tap Room at 130 Mt Pleasant Road about 10:12 pm November 28, after learning of a counterfeit currency incident at the bar.

Police said that after an investigation there, they determined that John Lipusz, Jr, 41, of 11 Wildcat Road had used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for an entry cover charge at the bar and also attempted to use another counterfeit $100 bill to pay for some drinks.

Police said they charged Lipusz with first-degree forgery, after which they released him on $500 bail for a December 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Fight

Police report they observed Kevin Quinn, 32, of Southbury involved in a fight with another person in front of the Dunkin’ Donuts store at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street about 1:13 pm December 1.

Police investigated and charged Quinn with disorderly conduct, after which they released him on $2,500 bail for a December 15 court appearance.

Motorcycle Incident

A motorcycle and a 1999 Nissan Maxima sedan collided near 13 Hawleyville Road about 5:15 pm November 28, police report.

Police said a motorist was driving the Nissan southward, when the front end of the southbound motorcycle collided with the rear end of the Nissan.

After the collision, the motorcycle fell to the ground, police said. The unknown motorcyclist then picked up the fallen motorcycle, got on it and drove away, police said.

The two people who were in the Nissan were not injured, police said.

Police described the motorcyclist as a white man over six feet tall and weighing more than 200 pounds who was wearing a flag-style bandanna. The motorcycle was described as a heavily chromed Harley-Davidson with a loud exhaust system.

Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the motorcyclist to contact Officer Richard Monckton at the police station at 203-426-5841.

SUV Vs Deer

Motorist Patrick Moriarty, 59, of New Milford was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV southward near 188 South Main Street about 6:23 am December 1, when a deer ran onto the road and collided with the vehicle, police said. Moriarty was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
