Newtown Community Center (NCC) launched a new event last month, inviting the public to visit 8 Simpson Street on Tuesdays once each month through February for a Winter Farmers Market.

The market debuted November 14. It will continue on December 19, January 16, and February 6. Each market will be conducted from 2 to 6 pm.

Participating vendors include Breezy Knolls Farm, Carrot Top Kitchens, Cross Culture Kombucha, Delavignes Gourmet Foods, Emalyn Sweets, The Healing Herb Garden, Healthy Eats Farm, Ideal Fish, Nick’s Catering, and Why Not Farm.

NCC Programs Director Jennifer Cebry said she and others are “excited to bring this new opportunity to Newtown. We see this as a great way to continue the Farmer’s Market, giving access to local farmers and foods throughout all seasons.”

Artisans and farmers who would like to join either or both of the remaining dates this season are encouraged to contact Cebry at jen.cebry@newtown-ct.gov to receive an application.

Guests last month responded to the opportunity to shop in the market setting, with residents of not only Newtown but also Danbury, New Milford, Redding, Southbury and Waterbury all represented.
