St Rose Parish Nurse Nancy Rhodes announces an extension of the pediatric COVID Clinic planned for next week.

The free walk-in clinic, originally planned for 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 30, will now begin at 2 pm.

“I was able to extend our clinic to make it easier with the cold weather and accommodation of so many 5-11-year-old kids,” Rhodes said via e-mail on December 23.

Rhodes has been working with Griffin Health and CT Department of Public Health since early June to schedule the clinics on the campus of St Rose of Lima Church. The clinics have been free and open to all. Initially presented as vaccination clinics, they have since expanded to include booster clinics for adults and now children/pediatrics clinics.

The most recent clinic for adults, on December 17, inoculated 266 people during a 4½-hour period. Four doctors from Danbury Hospital and a team from Griffin Hospital participated, according to Rhodes.

The clinics are conducted within the Holy Innocents Faith Formation Center, 46 Church Hill Road. No appointment is needed.

The December 30 clinic is a first and second Pfizer clinic for ages 5-11. Those receiving their second shots should have their vaccine cards available for updating.

No one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.

For additional information contact Rhodes at 845-641-7277.
