Frank Edson Furze, Jr, 92, of Newtown, died December 29, at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Detroit to Madeline (Serrell) Edson Furze and Frank Furze, Sr, and was a longtime Newtown resident.

He was an accomplished machinist for Bassick Co in Bridgeport for many years.

A World War II US Navy veteran, he was a very active member of the VFW in Bethel where he served as quartermaster and chaplain. He was also an active member of the Newtown Senior Center.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Albert Furze, and his brother, Lyle Furze. Four nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and nephews survive Mr Furze.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services Thursday, January 2, at 11 am, at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Pains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service.
