Grateful Gatheirng: Sacred Rest Scheduled At Booth Library March 31
Grateful Gatherings are an opportunity for residents and neighbors to focus on gratitude to provide community connection, invigorating reflection and conversation, and practical tools for living a meaningful and flourishing life. Gatherings are open to anyone seeking inspiration, resources, and fellowship for living a life with purpose and joy.
On Tuesday, March 31, 6 pm, in the Genealogy Room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, the group will focus on “Sacred Rest.” Across cultures and time, humans have honored the need for rest — not just to sleep, but to truly renew. This month's Grateful Gathering will show participants what it means to take a pause from busyness, return to what nourishes inner life, and a reminder that rest can be an act of gratitude and care.
Attendees will explore rest as something deeper and more spacious than modern life often allows — rest for the body, the mind, the emotions, the senses, the spirit, and even relationships and creativity. Drawing from the wisdom of the seven types of rest, attendees will reflect on where they may be depleted and what kinds of rest are quietly asking for their attention. Participants are asked to come as they are and will leave with a deeper understanding of what truly replenishes them.
Donna Vella is the Grateful Gatherings host, as well as a positive psychology educator, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide, and Newtown resident.
