Local Fourth Grader To Host ‘Gaming For Change’ On May 16
On Saturday, May 16, 6-9 pm, local fourth grader Jack Liberta invites the Newtown community to Affinity Esports, 27 Glen Road, to participate in Gaming For Change. Attendance is $50, and all proceeds will go to Tommy’s Place, an organization that gives week-long, all-expense-paid vacations to kids with cancer and their families in Cape Cod.
Liberta said this will be a “fun” and “memorable” night and invites everyone to join. While many attendees will be enjoying the video games Affinity Esports has to offer, there are activities for everyone. There will also be a raffle for several high-value items, such as free bagels for a year from Bagel Delight, a free birthday party at Affinity Esports, and tickets to the upcoming PGA championship.
Liberta also designed jerseys for the event, which are $54.95. A portion of those proceeds will also be donated to Tommy’s Place. Those who are unable to make it to the event or wish to donate to Tommy’s Place can do so by going to affinityesports.gg/gamingforchange and select the “Custom Amount” option on the webpage to make a donation. Light refreshments will be provided.
Preregistration is requested and can be done by going to the same web page, affinityesports.gg/gamingforchange. More information about the event and Liberta’s story can also be found there.
