To The Editor:

As an unaffiliated voter, I believe this is exactly the kind of leadership we need in today’s political climate.

A few weeks ago, a family matter arose on a Friday evening, and I reached out to our local representative, Mitch Bolinsky, to explain the situation. Mitch took the time to listen and went a step further by contacting Senator Richard Blumenthal on our behalf. By 11:30 that evening, we had received a response from Senator Blumenthal indicating that his team would look into the matter first thing Monday morning.

Mitch went above and beyond to help our family. What stood out to me most was that political affiliation never seemed to matter. He worked with Senator Blumenthal, across party lines, in an effort to help resolve our situation.

From my experience, Mitch wasn’t focused on red or blue, left or right. He was focused on helping a constituent in need.

That is the kind of leadership we need more of today — people willing to put politics aside, work together, and focus on helping people when it matters most.

Regardless of political affiliation, that kind of commitment to public service deserves to be recognized.

Mitch has my vote.
