DUI Arrest
DUI Arrest
Police report that after stopping motorist Thomas Fitzhenry, 66, of 10 Black Cherry Lane at 6 Queen Street at about 5 pm on June 10 in connection with an investigation that they were conducting at the Big Y supermarket, they charged Fitzhenry with driving under the influence.
After processing, police released Fitzhenry on $100 bail for a June 30 court appearance.
DUI Charge
Police said that after observing a motor vehicle violation about 8:40 pm on June 12, they stopped motorist Gary Heriot, 49, of Guilford to investigate near 28 Church Hill Road.
That investigation resulted in police charging Heriot with driving under the influence, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to obey a traffic control signal.
After arrest processing, Heriot was released on $100 bail for a June 28 court appearance, police report.
Wicker Chair
On June 11, police reported that they are investigating the theft of wicker chair from a property on Schoolhouse Hill Road near that streetâs intersection with Hanover Road. Police ask anyone with knowledge about the crime to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
Keys Found
On June 11 at about 5:45 pm, a set of keys, including a vehicle key and a house key, was found near the sidewalk at 14 Main Street, police report. The owner of those keys may contact police Officer Bart Lorancaitis at the police station to claim the keys which are being held there for safekeeping.
Mile Hill/Queen
At about 5 pm on June 10, motorist Paul Mayer, 48, of 199 Walnut Tree Hill Road, attempted to make a left turn from southbound Queen Street onto eastbound Mile Hill Road, as motorist Paolo Olcese, 45, of Brookfield was driving a 2005 Audi A-6 sedan westward on Mile Hill Road, police said.
The two vehicles then collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Mayer an infraction for failure to grant the right of way. Police said they gave Olcese an infraction for driving an unregistered vehicle.
I-84 DUI
State police said they received a complaint late on the night of June 10 that someone was driving a black Toyota erratically on westbound Interstate 84 near Exit 14 in Southbury, so they investigated.
State police said they then found that the motorist driving that vehicle was not keeping in the proper travel lane on westbound I-84, east of Exit 9, so they stopped it to investigate.
State police charged motorist Federico Moscaritolo, 37, of Scarsdale, N.Y., with driving under the influence, failure to have automotive insurance, and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Following processing, state police released Moscaritolo on $500 bail for a June 27 court appearance.
Tree Onto Audi
Motorist Jonathan Vartelas, 37, of New Haven was driving a 2005 Audi A-4 in the right lane of eastbound Interstate 84, about 500 feet west of Exit 10, about 11:35 am on June 12, when a tree fell over on the right road shoulder and landed on the Audi as it passed by, state police said.
Vartelas was not injured.
I-84 Rear-Ender
About 6 pm on June 10, motorist Debra Glover, 41, of Oakville was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV eastward on Interstate 84 in the left lane of three lanes, about 500 feet west of Exit 11, when she slowed and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Volkswagen was struck from behind by an eastbound 2000 Infiniti I-30 driven by Annamarie Lewis, 17, of 52 Birch Hill Road, state police said.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
 Fallen Item
At about 3:36 pm on June 8, motorist Lisa Satmary, 58, of 20 Waterview Drive was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV on eastbound Interstate 84, about 500 feet west of Exit 10, behind a 2009 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck driven by Nicholas Stoneking, 23, of Avon, Ind.,, state police said.
The Freightliner tractor was hauling an empty flatbed trailer, state police said. A tie-down ratchet clamp then broke away from the trailer and smashed through the front windshield of the Chevrolet, state police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Satmary to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, state police said. Enforcement information was not available.
Moving Violations
Police report that at about 6:30 am on June 13, they stopped motorist Nicole Reymond, 21, of Meriden on Riverside Road, near Goodyear Road, because she was driving too fast.
After investigating, police charged Reymond with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended license.
Following processing, police released Reymond on a written promise to appear in court on June 24.
Botsford Incident
Police report that they received a call about 2:49 pm on June 13 from a Botsford Hill Road man reporting that his 17-year-old son had cut his hand on glass while he was involved in a dispute with the man.
Police went to the scene and learned that the youth had left the property, but he was soon found near the railroad bridge that passes above Botsford Hill Road. The youth then resisted arrest, according to police. Seven police responded to the incident.
Police said the youth was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, after which he was released from the hospital.
Their investigation into the incident showed that the youth had damaged several pieces of property at the Botsford Hill Road house and was in possession of marijuana, according to police.
Police charged him with disorderly conduct, interfering with police, second-degree criminal mischief, and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
The youth was held overnight on $25,000 bail by police for a June 14 court arraignment in Danbury Superior Court, police said.
Because the youth who was charged with the crimes is under age 18, his identity is shielded from public disclosure by state law.
Toddy Hill Road
Police report that motorist Robert Pascone, 43, of Bridgeport was driving a 2008 Toyota station wagon northward on Toddy Hill on a sharp curve, just south of its intersection with Marlin Road, about 8:05 am on June 13, when an unknown southbound vehicle partially crossed into the northbound lane.
Pascone steered the Toyota to the right to avoid a collision, but the Toyota struck some curbing and a rock along the right road shoulder, police said. The impact caused two tires on the Toyota to go flat, police said.
 Pascone was not injured. Police said they took no enforcement.
Five Charges
Police said that while on radar speed patrol about 4:50 pm on June 15, they stopped motorist Juan Santiago, 48, of Monroe near 42 High Bridge Road to investigate.
That investigation resulted in police charging Santiago with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and traveling too fast.
After processing the arrest, police released Santiago on $1,000 bail for a June 29 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
