Holiday ’99 Concert Schedule

Among the anticipated holiday events that brighten Newtown during the December and early January gloom, the seasonal concerts in Newtown schools are perennial favorites.

This year there are 10 different concerts from the high school down through the elementary schools for all to enjoy.

The High School will hold its annual winter concert on December 17 at 7:00 pm in the school’s auditorium. A snow date is scheduled for December 20 at 7:30 pm.

The Newtown Middle School’s choral concert will take place on December 13 at 7:00 pm at the high school, with a snow date scheduled for January 4 at 7:30pm. The middle school’s orchestra concert will take place on December 16 at 7:00 pm at the high school, with snow date scheduled for January 5 at 7:30 pm. The middle school’s band concert will take place on December 21 at 7:00 pm at the high school, with a snow date scheduled for January 6 at 7:30 pm.

Hawley Elementary School’s band and orchestra concert is slated for December 15 at 7:30 pm at Hawley, with a snow date scheduled for December 22 at the same time. Hawley’s chorus will perform on December 20 at 7:30 pm at Hawley, with a snow date scheduled for December 22 at the same time.

Middle Gate Elementary’s band and orchestra will have their concert on December 20 at 7:30pm at Middle Gate.

In January, Sandy Hook Elementary’s band and orchestra will perform on the 11th at 7:30 pm at the high school, with a snow date scheduled for January 12 at the same time. Middle Gate’s chorus will perform on the 12th at 7:30 pm at Middle Gate, with a snow date slated for January 13. Head O’ Meadow’s band and orchestra will perform on the 13th at 7:30 pm at Head O’ Meadow, with a snow date scheduled for January 20 at the same time.
