Newtown Police Department will work with representatives of Easterseals Driver Assessment Program program to conduct practice traffic stops two weeks from today.

Aquarion crews are scheduled to start on a project to replace an underground pressure reducing facility on Tory Lane, which will maintain water main pressure and fire flow capacity in the area.

Newtown Police Department and other law enforcement agencies nationwide will be partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration next weekend for the 25th Drug Take Back Day. The local police department will additionally be conducting a gun buyback that same day.

The town has approved $100,000 in American Rescue Plan funds for pickleball courts.

A section of Edmond Road was closed off on October 13 after human remains were found.

Newtown Police this morning arrested an unarmed school security guard on three weapon possession charges after a handgun and ammunition were found in his vehicle parked on school grounds.
