While the apex of the 2026 Semiquincentennial celebrations occurred ahead of and on July 4, local events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of this countryβs founding continue.
A team of volunteers came out to support Sticks & Stones Farm after a nearby dam broke during a major rainstorm, bringing mud and debris onto the property.
Three exhibitions this Semiquincentennial season are highlighting local connections to the countryβs founding 250 years ago. This week readers head to Newtown Municipal Center, where collaborative efforts are on view.
What I will always remember about Mitch is he is the only politician in Newtown that I saw coming to and standing up against the proposed Truck Depot at Exit 9. As bad as traffic is in Newtown now and with the constant push for housing development in Newtown, traffic has become a point a real negative for Newtown. Now imagine a Truck Depot in town on top of it. Thanks Mitch for standing with the Newtown residents to stop that insanity
Some would say that is an authentic representation of the candidates experience...it would be similar if Jahana posed with a coat hanger and a man dressed as a woman in the women's restroom given Halloween is around the corner...but all she gives us is her name on a sign.
A quick search of articles on The Bee's website debunk most of these claims. Mitch has done an incredible job on infrastructure, opposed tax increases and has been honored multiple times for his bipartisan work for our seniors. I have faith that Newtown voters are more intelligent than Lynn presumes.
