Town Players of Newtown will present "Dancing at Lughnasa" as the final show of the season at The Little Theatre. Performances will begin November 16 and continue for four weekends.

Local firefighters will conduct the annual Fill The Fire Truck campaign on Saturday, November 17, from 9 am to 2 pm. Donations will be accepted during those hours for FAITH Food Pantry, and then delivered to the pantry that afternoon.

Newtown Congregational Church members are conducting a Royal Caribbean Cruise Raffle. One lucky winner will be treated to a seven-day cruise for two to anywhere Royal Caribbean travels, along with a $500 spending voucher.

Organizers for the 33rd Annual Newtown Holiday Festival are counting on the public for donations for this year’s Festival of Trees. Part of the holiday festival, the Festival of Trees offers both a beautiful display and a shopping/auction opportunity for those who want to take a piece of the festival home with them.

The 33rd Annual Holiday Festival will be presented on Sunday, December 2, from 11 am to 4 pm, on and around Main Street. The event is one of the area’s longest-running holiday events and benefits Newtown Youth & Family Services.

Anyone who has given their time to ring the bell for the local Salvation Army chapter during previous holiday seasons is invited to join Red Kettle Campaign organizers for a Thank You Reception on Saturday, November 10, from 9 to 11 am, at Newtown Congregational Church.

Due to a number of hike and destination changes this season for Newtown Hikers, hike coordinator Sally Cox has issued an updated schedule for the next few weeks.

The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive for Tuesday, November 6, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street. Collections will be done between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm.
