Mammal Tracking Class
SOUTHBURY â The Audubon Center at Bent of the River will offer a full day tracking class for adults on Saturday, January 31.
Reservations are required for the class, which will be taught by Valerie Major and Nick Wisniewski. Ms Major and Mr Wisniewski, who are carrying on the work of Paul Rezendes, the author of Tracking & the Art of Seeing, operate a tracking school in Massachusetts.
Participants will spend a full day outdoors, learning about animal signs and following the tracks of resident fox, coyote, deer, weasel, and other mammals. The program will be held rain, snow, or bitter cold, and is limited to 15 people at least 15 years old.
Hiking will be moderate to strenuous; participants must be in good physical condition. Dress warmly and bring lunch and a hot drink to be eaten on the trail. Fee for the class is $50.
