A Family-Friendly Movie? By Ernest Vitarbo

To the Editor:

I am writing this message out of concern for the complete lack of decency and lack of any standards by the person or persons who decide which movies to show at the theater.  In the event residents are not aware of it, a recent movie shown is titled "Grandma." It is supposedly a comedy/drama about a woman who goes on a road trip with her granddaughter trying to obtain the money for her granddaughters abortion.

What in the world is going on in the minds of the people who made the decision to show this movie? Are they so lacking in any moral fiber that they would think a movie about a young woman killing her unborn baby could be funny? Perhaps next week they can show the videos of Planned Parenthood staff discussing the sale of fetal body parts. I am sure they would find that hilarious.

Is this appropriate for what is supposed to be a family friendly theater?  Is this what Newtown has deteriorated to?  The only word that can describe the person or persons that made this decision is that they are a despicable human being.

Sincerely,

Ernest Vitarbo
