Frank Cone, Jr

Aircraft Many Years

Frank Cone, Jr, of Church Creek, Md., formerly of Sandy Hook and Fairfield, died suddenly January 23. Mr Cone was born in Bridgeport on September 25, 1934, son of Frank M. Cone, Sr, and Catherine (Baker) Cone, both now deceased.

In addition to his devoted wife, Cecile, Mr Cone leaves his children Janet Merrifield and her husband, John, of Sandy Hook, Diane P. VanderGiessen and her husband, Jim, of Virginia, James Cone and his wife, Dawn, of Virginia, Carol Melio and husband, Bruce, of Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Thomas, Cullen, and Lindsay Merrifield, Morgan VanderGiessen, Alexis and Julien Meilo, and Madison Butler. He is survived by his brothers and their wives, Ronald and Barbara Cone of New Hampshire and Richard and Marylou Cone of Fairfield; his sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Ernie Antolini of Fairfield, Mary Ann and Mel Cooney of Waterbury, Linda and Dan DiPietro of Milford, and Marlene Cone of Milford; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr Cone graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1954, served six years in the United States Army, with an honorable discharge in 1963 after serving in Germany. He was employed many years for Sikorsky Aircraft. He married Cecile (LaFontaine) Cone on August 4, 1962.

Mr Cone was a member of Saint Mary’s Star of the Sea in Maryland and the American Legion Post 91.

Service will take place in Maryland on January 27.
