Traps Set At Middle Gate For Leapinâ Leprechauns
Middle Gate Elementary School third graders recently completed their âLeprechaun Traps,â designed to catch the beloved little sprites on St Patrickâs Day eve.
âEvidence of a leprechaun visit were indeed evident on St Patrickâs Day,â said third grade teacher Tisha McCoy with a sly smile, âbut unfortunately, I donât think any of them got themselves trapped!â
Nevertheless, the project presented students with a variety of academic challenges ranging from math to art (students were required to draw a design of their project before constructing it).
âThe results were very creative,â Ms McCoy noted, eyes sweeping over the assortment of sticky ladders, boxes booby-trapped with double-sided tape, and other foils.
While the project has been done in individual classes in the past, this was the first time the entire third grade took part.
