To The Editor:

“Bad Thing’s Can Happen” is what Pete Hegseth remarked so callously the other day as the number of servicemen killed rose to 16. When Trump reported the first 6 servicemen killed, he said, “more casualties are likely, but that’s the way it is."

What gives these guys the right to put our young men and women in harm’s way without Congress representing the American people?

It is estimated that there have been 500,000 Iranian casualties so far in this war. How many were civilians? And when a US rocket hit a school and 168 civilians were killed, the majority were children. No apologies. “That’s the way it is.”

No American support for this illegal war. No justifiable reason for attacking Iran. No clear plan for what they hope to accomplish. What is clear is that this administration has purposely caused “bad things" to happen.
