Open House, Old Glass At Curtiss House, April 17

Newtown Historical Society will host an open house at its headquarters, The Matthew Curtiss House, on Sunday, April 17. 

The public is invited to visit and tour the building at 44 Main Street any time between noon and 4 pm.  Admission is free, however, donations are welcomed and appreciated. Junior and senior docents will be available to answer questions about the house and its history and will provide guided tours by request.

During the open house, Noel Tomas of The Museum of Connecticut Glass will be setting up a display of Connecticut glass and bottles. Mr Tomas will talk about the museum as well as the art and history of glassmaking in Connecticut. Visitors are encouraged to bring pieces of “old” glass and bottles for possible identification by Mr Tomas.
