Frank and Victor DeGirolamo spent thirty years operating Nick's Restaurant in Danbury before deciding to transform their business and focus on their specialty: buffet catering.

Now known as Nick’s Catering, the DeGirolamo brothers still serve the same high quality, great-tasting food they were always known for, only now they are stationed locally at 31 Pecks Lane.

The two were excited to open their catering business in Newtown, as both are longtime residents and enjoy feeding their neighbors and clientele all throughout Fairfield County.

The current address is both the main location for making and preparing all the catered meals, as well as where people pick up their orders. Takeout lunches are available in single servings between 11 am and 1 pm.

Hungry customers can also meet the staff of Nick’s Catering and pick up individual-portioned food to go when visiting their booth at the farmers markets in Newtown, Bethel, Monroe, and Southbury.

With the spring season in full force, Nick's Catering is gearing up for the local farmers markets, which begin in May and June. Additionally, there will be a winter farmers market twice a month at Newtown Community Center.

To that end, Nick's Catering is also preparing to go all out for the spring-summer season, ready to cater for confirmations, first communions, graduations, and other special summer events.

In its years of operating in Newtown, Nick’s Catering's goal has never changed: to offer traditional Italian cuisine that is prepared fresh every day and appeals to all palates.

The full catering menu includes everything from delicious hot food classics such as eggplant parmigiana and a huge range of pasta dishes to American-style sandwich platters. People can also sink their teeth into delectable chicken dishes including but not limited to chicken francese, chicken parmigiana, and stuffed chicken.

From veal, salads, and hors d'oeuvres to seafood, desserts, and specialty dishes, Nick's Catering has it all.

Depending on the tastes and preferences of the clientele, Nick’s will tailor its menu and service options to meet individual needs.

Pickup and delivery catering can be done regardless of the size of the event, as Nick’s Catering has no maximum and has catered parties as large as 750 people. There is free delivery for orders $300 or more.

Nick’s Catering can also do full-service on-site catering for special events such as weddings, bridal or baby showers, rehearsal dinners, business meetings, company parties, and picnics.

Even though Nick’s Catering no longer has an official dining area in which people can gather, it still offers the great taste that customers remember fondly.

No matter the place or time of year, Nick’s continues to bring family and friends together to enjoy each other’s company while dining on food they know and love.

Sample Of The Menu

Hors D’oeuvres: Nick’s Catering offers a variety of appetizer options, including tasty stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta bread, mini Italian meatballs, and arancini (rice balls).

Pasta: A standout pasta selection is the penne pasta with vodka sauce. There are also spaghetti, shell, and linguini pasta options.

Chicken: There are more than half a dozen chicken entrees available for catering. The chicken campagna consists of tender pieces of breaded chicken and fresh sautéed red peppers in a garlic sauce.

Seafood: A best-selling seafood selection at Nick’s Catering is the seafood imperial. It is a combination of clams, scallops, shrimp, sole, and calamari, prepared in a light pink sauce over linguini.

Nick’s Specialties: Nick’s Catering is known for its many signature dishes that they have kept by popular demand, including the eggplant parmigiana made with rolled eggplant stuffed with mozzarella cheese, prepared in a marinara sauce.

Vegetables: Among the different vegetable options are fresh string beans, broccoli parmigiana, and grilled vegetables.

Salads: There are seven choices of salads listed on the catering menu, including the traditional Italian antipasto, potato salad, and Caesar salad.

Desserts: Nick’s Catering has fresh cookies and brownies available for dessert, as well as cannoli, tiramisu, 12-inch cheesecake, and 12-inch chocolate mousse cake.

Sauces: Each type of sauce is made on-site and sold by the quart. Choose from marinara, broccoli, meat, primavera, and tomato sauce.
