Silver Alert For Blue McGrath Ended
Newtown Police have issued a statement updated a silver alert that was issued on May 6.
Blue McGrath was returned safely to her mother on the evening of May 7, and the Silver Alert has been canceled.
The Newtown Police Department now has an active criminal arrest warrant for Brennan McGrath for charges including Custodial Interference (53a-97) and is working to locate McGrath and take him into custody.
The alert issued earlier this week said Brennan McGrath is a Newtown resident described as a 33-year-old white male, 5’10” tall, with blue eyes, and is bald with a red beard, also according to the alert.
He may be driving a white Lexus or blue McLaren, the original alert also noted.
Newtown Police Department this morning also said it "is grateful to our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners who worked diligently to assist us in returning Blue safely to her mother. The department is also thankful to so many community members who expressed concern for Blue's well-being, called in tips, and watched for any sightings of her.
"Over the past several days, many officers and detectives with our department have continually investigated, followed up on leads, coordinated with law enforcement partners, communicated with the court, and ultimately brought this investigation to a safe resolution."
