St Rose Art Students Shine
On April 27, St Rose Parish Hall was transformed into an art gallery, displaying works of students who attend the Kâ8 school. Every student contributed paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sixth graders traced their own bodies and produced mummy paintings. Third graders worked with clay to create bird sculptures, first graders designed quill art, and kindergarteners made paper mache chicks.
Samantha Kohler, art teacher and show organizer, also included St Rose faculty in the show. Teachers were given wooden crosses to decorate, which were on display and auctioned off during the evening.
Craig Baldino took the Best of Show award. Other winners included: Best of Craft, Sonja Hayden; Best of Sculpture, Nick Martinez; Best of Pastel, Rachel Hyland; Best of Drawing, Zachary Bokuniewicz; Teacherâs Award, Zachary Bokuniewicz; Best of Colored Pencil, Andrew Haas; Best of Painting, Brittany Mortera; Best of Photography, Kateleen Foy; Best of 6th Grade, Elyse Bokuniewicz; Best of 7th Grade, Megan Murphy; Honorable Mentions: Colleen Cunningham, Connor Byrne, Greg Davis.
