Sacred Heart Equestrians Third In The Nation

The Sacred Heart University equestrian team rode to a team-best third-place finish at the Third Annual Varsity Equestrian Championship in Georgia recently. The University of Georgia, Auburn University and the University of South Carolina hosted the event, which featured 12 of the nation’s top Division I and II declared varsity programs. Traveling with trainer Justin Gregory of Fox Ridge Farm in Newtown were Emily Grayson (winner of the flat phase), Kate Janczak (winner of the over fences phase) and freshmen Catherine Coyle, Lauren Pierce and Jessica Reynolds. For Grayson and Janczak, it was their second appearance at the VEC. Georgia and Auburn finished 1-2 in the event.
